reverb: you gAve back and GOT BACK
THANKS FOR SUPPORTING cmss!
In February 2022 we launched Reverb—a month-long love fest to raise funds for the percussion program at the Community Music School of Springfield (CMSS). Thank you to our family, friends, and community. Your love and generosity made a big difference for the CMSS percussion program. You gave back, and got back some some amazing prizes from the organizations below, and a few more!
Thank you to our generous REVERB partners!
WHY WE CARE ABOUT PERCUSSION
Drumming came naturally to Timmy who was gifted with his hands and musicality. He took drum lessons to get his feet wet, and then away he went. After jamming with friends in our backyard shed, he became the drummer for local heavy metal bands Face and 6thirty7.
Timmy recorded multiple albums and had the opportunity to tour up and down the east coast in the late 90s and early 00s. Timmy and his bandmates also performed at Locobazooka—an annual outdoor music festival held in New England showcasing heavy metal acts. Music brought him joy and purpose and was the start of a pathway to success for Timmy. We remember and celebrate his passion and talent for drumming.
SUPPORT LOCAL MUSIC education
We have partnered with CMSS to support their percussion program, including studio space and financial aid for students. The CMSS percussion program offers individual lessons, ensembles, and classes for people of all ages to learn everything from basic concepts of rhythm, drum and stick techniques, and musicality, to complex arrangements in a variety of musical genres. Some areas of study include: bucket drumming group, drum set, hand drums, Latin percussion, and symphonic percussion. Photos below are from a moving bucket drumming performance at our inaugural Timsgiving event in 2019.
